Change Change Change

Ok so once again, I'm not the best blogger, its been how long since my last blog post? I promise to get better, life just gets SO busy with the coolest toddler on earth living under YOUR roof! Where did I get so lucky/blessed! Addisyn is going 90 to nothing, talking in full sentences, learning new things everyday, coming up with her own expressions and responses which keep her daddy and I in awe/giggling more than we know what to do with!
I recently departed my job as Director at Eldorado Montessori. Myself, my assistant and 10 of the teachers have left the owner. enough said. I refuse to dwell anymore of my time/emotion on what happened there. I just miss the children and parents everyday, but I am blessed to have such supportive parents who have kept in touch via email and play dates regularly!
So what am I doing now? Well the Montessori Method is such a wonderful method in teaching children, one in which I give much credit to with Addi's development. So I thought to myself, I know the works, I know the pretense behind teaching.... with a few books, info and tools, I could do this at home with a small amount of children and Addi! Soo, thats what I am doing!! Ballard Home Academy began August 1, 2011 and I couldn't be happier! Its such a great experience and I seem to be learning everyday right along with the children! I am teaching Monday-Wednesday and the best part.. Im home with my favorite girl and then 4 days a week its our time and family time! Phil is enjoying us being home and happy 7 days a week! Please keep my new direction in your prayers!
Now, lets talk about the change change change I WANT... COOOLLER TEMPS! SHEESH! We have been from 98-113 since mid july everyday.. its just killing me. I think Im melting every time i check the mail! As a friend put it.. 'this weather makes me feel like God has a magnifying glass pointed at my forehead'

Hello out there!

Its been way to long since I have come to blog! Funny how time flies as parents and how busy we become! Addi is a growing little girl and I wish I had a pause button. She is a talking storm, potty training and learning so much at her Montessori School. Phil has been relocated to a new Super Target closer to the house, so we are very excited about his promotion! I too have recently been promoted to Director of the Eldorado Montessori School and I am thoroughly enjoying each day with the children and teachers. We have been snowed in for 4 days now and enjoying our pajama days, cooking and keeping the fireplace running! I hope this blog finds everyone doing well and keeping warm in this crazy winter storm!

Addisyns 1st Birthday Party!

For Addisyn's first birthday party we celebrated with a backyard splish splash Luau theme! Jeremy and Kimmy came for a slumber party the night before and Addi and Ellia had a blast!It was too fun and we were so excited to share this celebration with family and friends! My brother took some awesome photos, but for now, these will have to suppress your photographical appetite for magic! ;)

Addisyn's First Birthday was Sunday, May 16 2010. Uncle Burns, Phil and I celebrated by taking her to lunch at Apetitos (she had some beans/rice but no margarita!) and then we took her to a local spot for her One Year Photos! Burns as usual did the most amazing job. I feel so lucky to have a brother and an uncle to Addi who will capture all her moments throughout life! Thank you Burns!

Long time no blog!

HELLLLLLOOOO!!
I have no excuse other than the last two months have been crazy busy for us! I recently got a new job, I am now the Assistant Director of the Eldorado Montessori School in Frisco, Tx. It is an amazing job and Addisyn will be joining me there in August to attend school! We are truly blessed as I think this will be a great experience for her! Phil was recently promoted within Target and has alot more storewide facility management responsibilities and hopes to move up into the District portion as soon as possible! And last but not least, in fact only the biggest part of this year so far.. Our little beans turned the big '1' ! I cannot believe my baby is not such a baby any more! I hope you enjoy some of the photos from the last two months and I promise to be more of a 'blogger' because I can only imagine all the changes and adventures in store for us in the rest of 2010!

Peek A Boo!

Addisyn has a new game whether it be by the wall, table or bathtub, she wants to play peek a boo with you! She gets so excited when you find her funny! LOL

Spring is here....well sometimes :)

The weather has been up and down, up and down, but this past Sunday we enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL day of sunshine and fun at my parents house for my Dad's 57th Birthday. We decided his birthdays start over this year since its his first year as Addi's Papa! (sounds like a plan right? I think Ill start mine over at 25 too!) Addisyn is really getting into exploring outside and she LOVED Mimi's flowers! It was a beautiful day celebrating the coolest Dad ever!!

Addisyn is such a music fan! ANYTIME ANY singing or music comes on TV she whips that head around and dances to the beat and/or starts singing... Well I created a monster last week when cleaning house... I always clean house to some fun jams and she was helping me and we were 'dancing' ... I set her down and she stands there doing the arm up initiating a 'rockstar stance' - HILARIOUS! Soo.. tonight during American Idol, David Cook was jamming out to an old Rolling Stones song and she of course began dancing... and I caught it on tape for ya!

Uncle Burns 25th Birthday

Today is Burns 25th Birthday! I can't believe my little brother is getting so old! (ha ha did that just for your Burns!) I am so proud of him and I hope he knows how special he is to this family. He has an amazing heart, brilliant mind and priceless personality!

SOOOOOO to celebrate what else do the Thorntons do but cookout a massive feast of amazing food and invite the crew!!? Burns friends George, Amber and our friends Jeff, Whitney and Tyler came to enjoy Steak Fajitas, Stuffed Peppers, Whitney's amazing dip and Mom's awesome Cherry Cheesecake!!! We played Win, Lose or Draw and also played 'pass the babies!' Addisyn and Tyler were quite the hit as usual and we also had Bentley the morkie join us as well.. such a cute and well behaved dog!

Over all it was a great night with family and friends! Thank you mom and dad for always sharing your home with our friends, kids, dogs and memories!!! We are two lucky kiddos!

Addi's 9 Month pictures

We can't believe how fast time flies. Addisyn is changing so much before our very eyes and she is a very 'serious' explorer! She is all over the place and really contemplates everything she runs into.. so funny! We decided to do some 9 month pictures at a small park here in Little Elm, she loves to be outside! Now if we can just get some warmer temps for more playtime!

Addisyn has an old but born again new favorite face, and for some reason, everytime I point the camera her way, here is what we get... lil stinker! She also has a sound with it, but I have yet to catch it on Video!

An unexpected, but WONDERFUL visit

This weekend Phil Sr and Keba (also known to you as Noni and Papa)stopped by to see us on their way home from an emergency visit to see Keba's brother, Phillip, in the hospital in Houston. Our prayers are with him as he recovers from some life threatening issues. We hope and pray for Peace in his life and health.

Although under horrible circumstances, we were thrilled to see them and happy to be a part of Papa B's first Corvette purchase (will there be more??? Keba with a matching vette??????) !!!!! It is SUCH a cool car and Phil Sr definitely deserves this for all 20+ years of service to his community and the ongoing amazing role he plays in the Ballard Family. Phil Jr, Myself and my brother Burns got a test drive, and I, myself was a little shaken after 'dropping the hammer!' (yes straight orders from Phil Sr.)

That being said, our little dare devil daughter was just a little too comfortable in the corvette at such a young age.... hmmmmmm

It was a wonderful visit, lots of fun, and we met up with my parents and brother for lunch on their way out of town! It was really great to get everyone together!
